Four people, including a child, died in Israeli strikes on the Lebanese capital Beirut in the late hours of 21 October.
This was reported by the Lebanese health ministry, adding that the strikes were carried out near the largest state hospital, AFP reported.
"An Israeli enemy strike near Hariri Hospital killed, according to preliminary data, four people, including a child, and wounded 24 people," the ministry said, adding that the strike caused "significant damage to the hospital."
In a separate statement, the ministry said the strike hit the entrance to the hospital, "which is still open and receiving a large number of patients."
The ministry rejected Israeli army claims that Hezbollah had stored half a billion dollars under the Sahel hospital in south Beirut.
Lebanon's National News Agency reported at least three Israeli strikes on the Uzzai neighbourhood in south Beirut.
"An Israeli airstrike targeted the Uzzai area. This is the first targeting of the Uzzai area since the beginning of the Israeli aggression against Lebanon," the media outlet reported.
Immediately before the strikes, the Israeli military called on residents to leave parts of southern Beirut.
Earlier on 21 October, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that it had struck some 300 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon over the past 24 hours. | BGNES
