Former Bulgarian President Plevneliev: With his actions, the head of state Rumen Radev violated the Constitution

With his actions, the Bulgarian head of state once again violated the Constitution. Rumen Radev blew up the independence of the Constitutional Court. He has no right to tell the court what to do. This is what the president (2012-2017) Rosen Plevneliev commented to Nova TV.
He specified that he was slightly surprised by the decision of the National Assembly, which fixed the term of office of the constitutional judges. "Whether it's seven or nine years, what's the difference? Let the court decide for itself." Well done to the deputies for conducting a public procedure in which there was a hearing", he clarified.

Bulgaria has two new constitutional judges, after Desislava Atanasova and Borislav Belazelkov were sworn in yesterday.
In this way, the quota of the Bulgarian Constitutional Court will be filled after more than 2 years.
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev disputed the election of the two candidates and refused to attend the ceremony.
Atanasova and Belazelkov swore in the presence of the Speaker of the Parliament Rosen Zhelyazkov, the President of the Supreme Administrative Court Georgi Cholakov and the President of the Supreme Court of Cassation Galina Zakharova. Plevneliev pointed out that Desislava Atanasova was in politics for 15 years. "If Rumen Radev pointed out a scandal in which she was involved, proof of a lack of integrity, we would have heard it. It turned out to be the opposite, Rumen Radev as a symbol of political nagging. I know Desislava Atanasova, she was in the National Assembly, chairperson of a parliamentary group. Every law has passed through it. She is very competent in this", added Plevneliev.
According to him, the main goal of this government is entry into the Eurozone and it must be supported. "There should not be any special elections until we enter the Eurozone," added Rosen Plevneliev./BGNES
