Ford pulls more than 20,000 vehicles from US market over battery issue

Ford is pulling 20,484 hybrid crossovers due to battery problems.

The decision affects vehicles such as the Ford Escape and the luxury Lincoln Corsair built between 2020 and 2024.

A manufacturing defect in one or more of the high-voltage cells could cause an internal short circuit and battery failure.

Dealers will perform a free software update of the battery's energy management module and replace the high-voltage battery pack if necessary, the U.S. auto safety regulator said. | BGNES
