Georgian police used tear gas to disperse thousands of pro-European demonstrators who gathered in central Tbilisi amid the country's deepening political crisis.
In the fifth consecutive night of protests, thousands of demonstrators waving Georgian and EU flags and shouting "Georgia" again gathered near parliament in the capital, AFP reported.
Police quickly intervened to disperse the crowds, firing tear gas at protesters, some of whom threw firecrackers at law enforcement forces. The demonstrators dispersed into the surrounding streets but later reassembled a few kilometres from the parliament building.
There was also a protest in Georgia's second city, Batumi. | BGNES
