Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met today in Nizhny Novgorod, Anadolu Agency reported.
They discussed various pressing issues, including the situation in Gaza.
The meeting was held within the framework of the meeting of foreign ministers of BRICS - an organization that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Turkey has expressed interest in joining it.
Discussions between Fidan and Lavrov covered a wide range of topics, including bilateral and regional relations, economic issues and the current situation in Gaza. The two also assessed the broader situations in the Middle East and the Caucasus, as well as the development of the conflict in Ukraine.
Lavrov briefed Fidan on the priorities of the Russian BRICS presidency, outlining Russia's position on the conflict in Ukraine.
The two ministers stressed the importance of maintaining close cooperation to address current challenges, expand bilateral ties and explore new areas of cooperation. | BGNES
