Fake news about a fire at the Eiffel Tower flooded social media

Fake videos showing the Eiffel Tower in flames have already been viewed millions of times on social media.
Many users apparently believe that the Paris landmark was on fire.
The footage, generated by artificial intelligence (AI), was posted on social media channel TikTok last week and has since received millions of likes and shares online, France 24 reported.
Although many users realized the images were clearly fake, thousands did not, with people using the hashtag "pray for Paris" in response.
A TikTok search for "Eiffel Tower" brings up "Eiffel Tower on fire" and "Eiffel Tower 2024 fire" as the most popular results.
In 2023 alone, the tourist site welcomed 6.3 million visitors. /BGNES
