Dubrovnik was hit by a storm with heavy rains.
Heavy rainfall flooded the coast of the residential area of Lapad. The water entered the houses. The views from the city are staggering – the entire city is under water, and a real downpour has passed through the Pila area.
The mayor of Dubrovnik, Mato Franković, urged citizens not to leave their homes.
"Dear fellow citizens, extreme amounts of rainfall have flooded almost all streets in the city. All emergency services are on the ground. Unfortunately, this is not all. Extreme amounts of rainfall are expected, which will cause many problems, so please do not leave your homes unless you urgently," he said, quoted by HINA.
"Protect your property. Our emergency services will make every effort to help pump the water out of the buildings, but at such extremes it is not possible to completely solve the problem of flash floods," added the mayor. | BGNES
