Experts recommend blue tea for people with sleep disorders

It is believed that blue tea can "cure everything" thanks to its diverse health benefits.

The drink, also known as Oolong tea, is traditional to China and has a bluish hue. It is extracted from the Camellia sinensis plant.

It can change colour depending on what it is mixed with due to its pH and has a taste more similar to that of green tea than black.

For centuries, tea has been consumed in Thailand, Vietnam, Bali and Malaysia for cooking, dyeing fabrics or even making cosmetics. According to the Spanish Heart Foundation, the substances in blue tea activate organoleptic properties and prevent the development of diseases such as cancer, myocardial infarction, stroke, neurodegenerative processes and pathologies of the immune system.

The drink also supports respiratory functions, reduces blood sugar and cholesterol levels and protects the liver. Drinking a cup of blue tea reduces harmful concentrations of triglycerides and bad LDL cholesterol while increasing levels of good HDL cholesterol, preventing atherosclerosis, heart attack, blood clots or hypertension.

It also helps with diabetes as the presence of phenolic acid improves insulin secretion, regulates glucose metabolism and prevents excessive sugar absorption. Oolong tea also helps for better sleep at night by helping relax muscles as it does not contain caffeine. It prepares the body for deep and prolonged rest, which is why it is recommended for people suffering from sleep disorders.

Thanks to its high antioxidant content, the tea helps to suppress the action of free radicals and improves skin health by preventing the appearance of wrinkles. It is also believed to be useful for eczema and sunburn.

The presence of bioflavonoids promotes hair growth, helps thicken hair and maintains its natural color. Although it can be consumed at any time of the day, experts recommend drinking it after meals as it aids digestion. | BGNES
