EU chief Ursula von der Leyen said she had ordered the European Commission to increase aid deliveries to Gaza after announcing a four-day pause in the conflict under the hostage release agreement.
"The EU will do its utmost to use this pause to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza," Von der Leyen said.
"I warmly welcome the agreement reached on the release of the 50 hostages and the cessation of hostilities. Every day that these mothers and children are held hostage by terrorists is too much. I share the joy of the families who will soon be able to embrace their loved ones again. And I am very grateful to all those who have worked tirelessly through diplomatic channels in recent weeks to reach this agreement. I call on the terrorist organisation Hamas to immediately release all hostages and allow them to return home safely," the President added. /BGNES
