European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU had allocated a new tranche of 1.5 billion euros of macroeconomic aid to Ukraine.
"Funding from Europe has supported Ukraine's economic stability and public services since the start of Russia's war. Today, we are disbursing a new €1.5 billion," the European Commission president said.
She added that the EU's financial support to Ukraine now stands at €85 billion.
Von der Leyen also assured that support for Ukraine will increase as the Commission has proposed to allocate €50 billion to Ukraine by 2027.
Ukraine's finance ministry announced that the government has received a total of €16.5 billion in financial support from the EU this year. / BGNES
