President Erdogan welcomed Steinmeier at the main entrance of the presidential complex. After Erdogan and Steinmeier took their seats in the ceremony area, the national anthems of the two countries were played.
The ceremony was also attended by flags and soldiers representing the 16 Turkish states established in history.
Erdogan and Steinmeier have a four-way meeting, will chair the intergovernmental delegation meeting, and give a joint press conference.
After the meeting, President Erdogan will host a dinner in honor of his German counterpart.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Finance and Treasury Minister Mehmet S’himshek and Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy will attend the ceremony. / BGNES
