England want to keep Gareth Southgate

The Football Association (FA) hopes to keep Gareth Southgate as the coach of the national team of England. He has held this position since 2016.

According to The Times, regardless of the outcome of the Euro 2024 final, the FA intends to extend the 53-year-old's contract. The current agreement expires this year.

Despite the criticism and ridicule, the "three lions" reached the match for the title of the championship in Germany. A 2-1 win over the Netherlands with a last-minute winner sent Gareth Southgate's side into a second successive continental championship final

The manager has achieved another great success in charge of this team and he cannot be erased by any complaints about the style of play, starting line-up, tactics and substitutions. In 8 years at the head of the team, Southgate has two European finals and a semi-final of the World Cup 2018.

England will play Spain for the Euro 2024 title. The match is on July 14 at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. | BGNES
