The Seleção took the lead after five minutes of play, with Andreas Pereira scoring the goal. At the beginning of the second half, Gabriel Martinelli went up 2-0, but the Mexicans did not give up and reduced through Julián Quiñones in the 73rd minute.
It came down to the closing minutes, with first substitute Guillermo Martinez equalizing for Mexico in the 93rd, but three later the new Brazilian acquisition of Champions League winners Real Madrid, Endric, received a pass from Vinicius Junior and made no mistake to make it 3:2.
Brazil will play one more friendly before the start of the Copa America on June 20. The Seleção will face the USA, and at the continental championship will play in Group D, where there are also the teams of Colombia, Paraguay and Costa Rica. The Mexicans are in Group B along with the teams of Ecuador, Venezuela and Jamaica.
In another fixture, Colombia crushed Copa America hosts USA 5:1. Jhon Arias, Rafael Borre and substitutes Richard Rios, Jorge Carrascal and Luis Sinistera scored for the Colombians, while Timothy Weah was accurate for the USA.
