Inter qualified for the final of the Italian Super Cup. The reigning trophy holders defeated Atalanta 2:0 at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
After a goalless first half, the Serie A champions struck twice against the Bergamo side in the first quarter of an hour of the second half. Both goals were scored by Dutch international Denzel Dumfries. In the 72nd minute, Ederson's goal for Atalanta was disallowed after VAR intervention, and by the end of the match, Gian Piero Gasperini's men were unable to respond to the challenge and thus are out of the competition.
Atalanta lost for the first time after four consecutive matches without defeat in all competitions. Inter, for their part, will face Juventus or Milan in the final, who face each other again in Riyadh tonight at 9:00 p.m. Bulgarian time. The dispute for the trophy is on Monday, January 6.
Simone Inzaghi's Inter then have a visit to Venice in Serie A, while Atalanta travel to Udine. | BGNES
