Djokovic's support proved insufficient for Serbia to get past Euro 2024 group stage

Serbia's men's national football team ended their participation at the European Championship in Germany after a goalless draw with Denmark in a Group C match of the competition.

The Blues needed a win in their final group game after picking up just one point from their first two meetings with England and Slovenia, but were unable to get it and packed their bags ahead of the knockout stages.

The support for Dragan Stojkovic's men was not small, as in the stands and on the bench before the first whistle with Denmark, the cameras caught the world number 2 in tennis Novak Djokovic. The 24-time Grand Slam champion arrived in Munich to give his compatriots the boost they needed in the battle for a place in the last 16, but even his presence proved insufficient.

The Joker is currently on the courts at Wimbledon, but it is still unclear whether he will take part in the third Slam of the year after recently undergoing knee surgery. The Serbian is a seven-time All England Club champion, but said he will only participate this year if he feels 100% and has a chance to fight for the title. | BGNES
