Djokovic cruises past Czech qualifier in London

Novak Djokovic advanced to the second round of Wimbledon after beating Vit Kopriva 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 in nearly two hours of play.

In front of one of the greatest players in the history of snooker, Ronnie O'Sullivan, the Joker, who is a seven-time champion of the All England Club, showed no problems of a physical nature. He made the decision to participate in the tournament shortly before its start due to knee surgery that ruled him out before the Roland Garros quarter-final with Casper Ruud.

Today, the Serbian gave only five games to the 123rd ranked qualifier Kopriva. The Czech got off to a solid start in the first three games, but then lost a long fourth, which turned out to be the key to the final outcome of the set. In the next two sets, Djokovic made a total of four breaks.

He did not concede a single break point to his opponent, finishing with 10 aces and 2 double faults, winning 89% of his first serve points and 68% on his second serve. Nole had 32 winners and 16 unforced errors. In contention for a place in the third round, last year's finalist and runner-up in the scheme will play the winner of the match between wild card host Jacob Fearnley and qualifier Alejandro Moro Cañas.

Yoshihito Nishioka, Luciano Darderi, Alex de Minaur (9), Thomas Martin Etcheverry, Hubert Hurkacz (7), Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Lorenzo Musetti, Jaume Munar, Alexei Popyrin, Ben Shelton and number 4 in the scheme Alexander Zverev also progressed. Out, however, is sixth-seeded Andrey Rublev, who was surprised by Argentine Francisco Comesana, 122nd in the world, in four sets. | BGNES
