Bulgaria's team captain Kiril Despodov was instrumental in PAOK's 2:0 away win over RFS in the fifth round of the main phase of the Europa League tournament.
Despodov had a goal and an assist for the Greek champions in Latvia. He opened the scoring after 120 seconds of play and after the break he passed to Fedor Chalov for the second goal for the visitors. PAOK is in 27th position in the standings with four points, while RFS is 34th with two less. In their next matches, the Greeks host Ferencvaros, while RFS are away to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Elsewhere, Manchester United achieved their first victory under new manager Ruben Amorim. Following the weekend's 1:1 draw with Ipswich in the Premier League, the Portuguese tasted victory in his first home game at Old Trafford as his side beat Bodo/Glimt 3-2. Alejandro Garnacho put the Red Devils ahead with a lightning quick goal but the Norwegians hit back within four minutes with goals from Hakon Evjen and Philipp Zinkernagel. At the end of the half, Rasmus Hojlund equalized and at the beginning of the second half the Dane found himself in the arms of his teammates again, scoring the winning goal.
Tottenham, on the other hand, drew 2:2 with Roma in a crazy match with three goals and three overruled goals. Spurs twice took the lead through Son Heung-min from the penalty spot and Brennan Johnson, but Wolves did not give up and first equalized through Evan Ndicka and then equalized after Mats Hummels' pinpoint stoppage-time intervention in the additional time.
