Denver regains first place in the West after Jokic's 41-point game against Minnesota

The Denver Nuggets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 116:107 at home in another regular season game of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The champions returned to first place in the Western Conference with two games to go in the regular campaign thanks to their leader Nikola Jokic. The two-time MVP from Serbia finished with a double-double of 41 points and 11 rebounds, adding 7 assists and 3 steals for one of his strongest games of the season. He finished 16/20 from the field and made both of his three-pointers. For the Nuggets center, this is the 20th game with at least 40 points in one game.

Jamal Murray added 20 points for the winners and Michael Porter Jr. had 18. They were the only home team players to record double-digit points.

For the guests from Minnesota, Anthony Edwards was above all with his 25 points. Mike Conley added 19, and Naz Reid and Rudy Gobert each added 13 points, with the French center also accounting for 15 rebounds, but their efforts proved insufficient for the win.

After its third consecutive victory, Denver is again on top of the West with a balance of 56-24 - Minnesota and Oklahoma City Thunder have 55 wins and 25 losses in the second and third positions, respectively. In their penultimate games of the regular season, the Nuggets visit the San Antonio Spurs, while the Timberwolves will look for revenge at home against Atlanta Hawks.
