The President of the European Council Antonio Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen congratulated the new Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov on his election to the post, BGNES reports.
"Hearty congratulations, Rosen Zhelyazkov, on your election as the new Prime Minister of Bulgaria," Costa wrote on the social network X.
"I wish you success and look forward to working together on a strong pro-European agenda for the benefit of all Bulgarians," he added.
"I congratulate Rosen Zhelyazkov on your election as Prime Minister of Bulgaria. I look forward to working with you for a prosperous Bulgaria in a strong and united Europe," Von der Leyen wrote in X.
"I also appreciate your support for our courageous neighbour Ukraine," the European Commission President added.
The government with Zhelyazkov as prime minister received the support of 125 MPs, while 114 voted against. | BGNES
