The legendary tennis player Chris Evert is fighting cancer again, she herself revealed on social networks. In early 2022, Evert shared that she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, for which she underwent successful treatment, but now the disease has returned.
It's a diagnosis I never wanted to hear, but again I'm lucky enough to be caught early. After scans with a scanner, I underwent robotic surgery this week. Doctors found cancer cells in the same place in the pelvic area. All the cells were removed and now I'm starting chemotherapy," said the 68-year-old American.
Evert will not be available to commentate on ESPN's Australian Open matches in January, but revealed he will be on the line for the rest of the Grand Slams. Chris Evert was one of the leading female tennis players of the 1970s and 1980s, winning 18 Grand Slam singles titles and a total of 157 trophies on the women's tour. She spent 260 weeks at the top of the world rankings. The American has taken part in 56 Slam tournaments, reaching at least the semifinals in 52 of them. /BGNES
