China will impose "provisional anti-dumping measures" on brandy imported from the European Union.
This news comes after a similar announcement last month further deepened the trade stand-off between Beijing and Brussels, AFP reports.
In a statement, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said that "investigating authorities have decided to apply provisional anti-dumping measures in the form of a cash deposit or letter of guarantee" against European brandy products.
The measures, based on calculations involving prices approved by customs as well as taxes on imports, follow a similar announcement made by the ministry on 8 October.
In January, China launched an investigation into brandy imported from the European Union after Brussels launched a probe into Chinese subsidies for electric cars. | BGNES
