Cher's special connection to France - she wants to be buried in Paris

The world-famous singer also shares that she wants to be buried in Paris, and even mentions in which world-famous cemetery she wants to be buried.

"I really want to be buried in France, but I don't think it's possible if you don't live in Paris," she said.

"Per-Lachaise is an amazing place, we spent hours there, Cher said.

"I went there with a couple of friends and I said, 'I absolutely have to be buried there.' I hope my wish comes true," she added.
Over the course of her career, the 78-year-old singer has spent some wonderful moments in France with other famous names.

"I have many good memories of France. I have spent holidays in France all my life. You feel free when you are at home," she said.

Although she met Johnny Holiday and Sylvie Vartan there, it was meeting one of the icons of French cinema, Brigitte Bardot, that made the biggest impression on her.

"She invited me to dinner several times. The first time was in the 1980s. Brigitte took me to a garden where we were alone with a guitarist. She was standing next to a wall, and I thought, 'Oh my God, I'm with Brigitte Bardot!" recalls Cher.

Cher's last visit to France was in May, when she attended amfAR's annual gala in the midst of the Cannes Film Festival. The diva arrived with her partner, music producer Alexander Edwards, who is 40 years her junior. | BGNES
