Chelsea progress to the FA Cup 1/8-finals after Aston Villa win

Chelsea are through to the last 16 of the FA Cup after beating Aston Villa 3-1 away in a replay of the competition's fourth round. The Blues got back to winning ways after a difficult week in which they conceded as many as eight goals in league defeats to Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Mauricio Pochettino's men came out ambitiously at Villa Park and took a 2-0 lead within ten minutes. Conor Gallagher struck in the 11th and soon after African Cup of Nations returnee Nicolas Jackson doubled the Londoners' lead. Shortly after the start of the second half, Enzo Fernandez the intrigue with a third goal. The home team scored once from substitute Moussa Diaby in stoppage time.

Thus, after a goalless draw in the first leg at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea progressed to the round of 16 of the FA Cup, where they will face Ilia Gruev Jr and Leeds, who eliminated Plymouth after extra time.

In another game, Nottingham Forest needed penalties to break Bristol City's resistance. Forest's next opponent is Manchester United.
