Donald Trump's team has described special prosecutor Jack Smith's move as a "major victory".
Special Prosecutor Jack Smith has decided to drop the case against US President-elect Donald Trump for allegedly conspiring to overturn the results of the 2020 election, AFP reports.
In a document to the district judge presiding over the case, Smith said it should be dismissed in light of the Justice Department's policy of not prosecuting a sitting president.
