"The UK has no closer ally than the US".
This was stated by British Foreign Minister David Cameron during his meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the Guardian reported.
"At a time of danger like this international situation, close alliances really do matter," Cameron said.
The British top diplomat also commented on the aid to Ukraine, against the background of increasing Russian pressure on the entire front line.
"We know what they (Ukrainians - note ed.) need and we know what is right for us. We know that if we give the Ukrainians the support they deserve, they will be able to win this war," he said.
Citing the Ukrainian foreign minister, Cameron says Ukraine needs air defenses, ammunition and money. The British foreign minister said it was important to send a clear message to everyone in the world, including China, that the US and the UK stand by their allies.
"Nothing is more important than the request for additional funding that Congress is currently considering. I come here with no intention of indoctrinating anyone, telling anyone what to do, or interfering with the political process. I just come here as a great friend and believer in this country and believing that it is deeply in your interest to release this money," Cameron added./BGNES
