"The attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels are unacceptable, illegal and threaten the lives of innocent people."
This is what British Foreign Minister David Cameron wrote on the X social network.
"Today's sanctions send a clear signal. The UK, along with its allies, will not hesitate to act against those who support the Houthis," Cameron said.
Earlier, Britain's Foreign Office said it was imposing sanctions on key figures supporting the Houthis, who continue to carry out attacks in the Red Sea.
The head of British diplomacy also commented on the results of the international conference organized in Paris with the participation of two dozen heads of state and government from Europe, as well as from the USA, Canada and Great Britain.
"Yesterday in Paris we reaffirmed our commitment to oppose Putin until Ukraine not only wins the war, but also becomes stronger and freer," the minister wrote in X.
Speaking at the said conference, French President Emmanuel Macron did not rule out the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine.
"Russia should not and cannot win," emphasized the French leader./BGNES
