Carlos Nassar was voted Best Weightlifter at the World Cup in Doha, Qatar. The Bulgarian athlete collected the most points of all the participants.
He is only 19 years old, but that didn't stop him from getting 975.0545 out of the maximum 1000 points in the Robbie system. It was introduced by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) after the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. It is named after the Hungarian Robert Nagy - a participant in the 1964 Tokyo Games and long-time director of technology at the IWF, who developed it.
Nassar earned the individual honor after setting the men's and junior world record. The Bulgarian managed to push 223 kg in his last appearance on the podium, and with this weight he also managed to grab the gold medal with a fight of 393 kg.
