Bulgarian football star in the Greek football club PAOK Kiril Despodov distinguished himself with a goal and two assists in PAOK's 4:0 home win against OFI Crete in the 16th round of the Greek championship.
The captain of the Bulgarian national team opened the scoring in the 39th minute, after a quarter of an hour earlier, the Austrian Stefan Schwaab missed a penalty for the "black and whites", made by Despodov. Ghanaian Abdul Rahman Baba doubled the lead for PAOK in the 41st minute. In the extra time of the first half, the Tanzanian Mbwana Samata also missed a goal from the penalty spot in favor of the team from Thessaloniki.
Brazilian Marcos Antonio made it 3:0 in the 89th minute after a pass from Despodov. The Bulgarian striker also led the Spaniard Brendan Thomas, who fixed the final result in the additional time of the meeting. Kiril Despodov has five goals in the local championship and 7 in all tournaments during the current campaign. The goalscorer stayed 90 minutes on the field for the fourth consecutive game.
PAOK lead the standings with an asset of 38 points after their seventh consecutive success in the championship, while Panathinaikos are three points less but also have played a match less. /BGNES
