"I literally got out of bed and got into the ring. I proved to myself that we are iron. People know, appreciate, and see, it was a unique match, a very good match, and a victory is a victory. When it's more difficult, it's even more sweeter". This is what Kubrat Pulev said to Bulgarian national broadcaster bTV upon his return to Bulgaria, after defeating the Polish boxer Andrzej Wawrzyk in California a few days ago.
The "Cobra" (ed. note: the popular nickname of Kubrat Pulev) was sick even before the match and entered the ring with a very high temperature, but despite this, he managed to outplay and defeat his opponent, and last night he and his brother Tervel, who also recorded a victory, were warmly welcomed on Bulgarian soil. "What could be better? A warm welcome and nothing but love. I'm always happy and grateful for that thing. And I always try to give back twice as much love. It was interesting, there was drama again. In the end, there's that, and we are people. Once again they proved to themselves, about the character, about the will, the desire, the intransigence, and the spirit. Everything is in the spirit because it was still a dilemma whether to play. The coach said, "No, you will not play, there is nothing that is at any price". But I judged and even told him "Come on, I'll do a round of shadow fight to you to prove to you that I'm not suffocating". He said to me "I can see you you're out of breath even when you walk," shared Kubrat.
Regarding his future challenges, Pulev said: "There we are, we comment, we talk, the new year can be very interesting. There is no long break, too much rest is also not good." /BGNES
