Britney Spears will continue to pay child support to her ex-husband Kevin Federline for their youngest son Jaden James, even though he recently turned 18.
According to TMZ, citing sources, Britney Spears and her ex-husband have agreed that she will stop paying child support to her son Jaden when he turns 18 or when he graduates from high school. However, the suspension will take effect upon the later occurrence of either event. Jaden, despite being an adult, is still in high school.
According to the publication, Jaden intends to graduate early from high school in Hawaii. That will happen in November, and until then Britney Spears will be forced to pay child support for his upkeep. Initially, as they write in the press, the singer paid her ex-husband $ 20,000 a month, but in 2018 this amount was doubled, since the children were completely under the care of Britney Spears' ex-husband. But last month, the singer decided to pay just $20,000 again because her eldest son Preston turned 18.
It is worth noting that Britney Spears has a very difficult relationship with her two sons Jaden and Preston. In 2022, Jaden publicly criticizes his mother for treating them differently and they sense it. And in 2023, it was reported that Britney Spears had not communicated with her children for over a year and they had stopped responding to her messages.
But in June of this year, it became known that her sons congratulated her on Mother's Day.
We recall that after a nervous breakdown in 2008, Britney Spears came under the guardianship of her father, who controlled her completely. The singer was able to free herself from his custody only after 13 years. | BGNES
