Britney Spears published a post on Instagram in which she supported actress Kate Beckinsale. The 50-year-old actress has been frequently criticized lately for being too thin, not wanting to age naturally and wearing age-inappropriate accessories.
The 42-year-old singer called such comments mean-spirited. "I adore Kate Beckinsale, especially because she's from London. I've realised how incredibly cruel people write about her on Instagram saying she needs age-appropriate clothing... She's 50 years old, it's great that she wears a mini bow in her hair and literally looks like a 4-year-old," Britney said. According to herself, she also constantly encounters similar comments under her videos in which she dances: they write to her that it does not correspond to her age.
"What have you done to help someone achieve their dreams besides your comments about us being old and not having the right clothes?" asked Britney. She noted that there's nothing wrong with needing inspiration and support. "But ironically in the world we live in where people can be incredibly cruel, you have to be extremely careful who you allow into your circle and into your heart," the singer added.
Earlier, Kate Beckinsale said that for 20 years she has faced harassment for her looks: being ridiculed for being too thin and having plastic surgeries, which the actress denies having done. The star links her weight loss to the intense stress and personal life losses she has experienced recently.
Britney Spears, on the other hand, is constantly battling against concerned fans on social media. She often gets into scandals related to her behavior: she posts photos on social networks in which she is stark naked, spends time with men with bad reputations and even had a fight with her boyfriend Paul Richard Solis, which resulted in her breaking her leg.
