Boston survives OT thriller with Indiana to take lead in East Finals

The Boston Celtics beat the Indiana Pacers 133:128 at home in overtime in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

At TD Garden, the Celtics didn't play their best game, but they survived to take the lead in the final series. The Celtics trailed by three points with 6.1 seconds left in regulation when Jaylen Brown hit a 3-pointer to send the game into overtime. There, Jayson Tatum scored 10 of his 36 points for the win. Tatum also added 12 rebounds and Brown finished with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. Jrue Holiday was also at a very high level with his 28 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists, and Al Horford and Derrick White each added 15 points.

For the visitors, three basketball players registered a double-double. Tyrese Haliburton finished with 25 points and 10 assists, Pascal Siakam had 24 points and 12 boards, and center Myles Turner finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Obi Toppin (15), Aaron Nesmith (14), TJ McConnell (13) and Andrew Nembhardt (12) also broke the 10-point mark, but it wasn't enough for Rick Carlisle's men.

Game number 2 is on Thursday again at the TD Garden. Joe Mazzula's team lost the previous Game 2 matches in their past two series. /BGNES
