"Everyone fears that Benjamin Netanyahu will order the start of a military offensive in Rafah in southern Gaza."
This was stated by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, upon his arrival at the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, the Guardian reported.
Borel expressed regret that one of the bloc's member states, Hungary, did not sign last Friday's communique calling on the Israeli prime minister not to continue the military offensive on Rafah.
"We only have the same bad news, 1.7 million people have been pushed to the Egyptian border. The military operation did not take place, but everyone fears that it will happen in the coming days. The only solution is the release of the hostages and a permanent ceasefire, which would allow a political solution to be sought," said the top EU diplomat./BGNES
