US aerospace giant Boeing has announced it is donating $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration fund.
Google also confirmed it had made a similar donation. The two firms have joined a growing list of major U.S. companies contributing to the fund, the BBC reported.
The list also includes oil producer Chevron and tech giants Meta, Amazon and Uber.
Trump's inauguration, marking the start of his second term in the White House, will take place on January 20.
"We are pleased to continue Boeing's bipartisan tradition of supporting the U.S. Presidential Inaugural Committees," Boeing said.
The company added that it has made similar donations to the last three presidential inauguration funds.
Boeing is trying to recover from a safety and quality control crisis, as well as losses from last year's strike.
The company is also building the next presidential aircraft, known as Air Force One. Both aircraft are expected to enter service as early as next year.
During his first term as president, Trump forced the aircraft manufacturer to renegotiate its contract. He described the original deal as too expensive.
Google became the latest major tech company to make a donation to the fund, after similar announcements were made by Meta and Amazon. The corporation also stated that it would stream the event worldwide.
"Google is pleased to support the 2025 inauguration with a live YouTube stream and a direct link on our homepage," said Karan Bhatia, Google's global head of government affairs and public policy.
Car companies Ford, General Motors and Toyota also donated $1 million each to the inauguration committee.
In the energy industry, Chevron confirmed it had made a donation to the fund but declined to say what the amount was.
"Chevron has a long tradition of celebrating democracy by supporting the inaugural committees of both parties. We are proud to be doing that again this year," said Bill Turenne, head of global media relations at Chevron. | BGNES
