"Donald Trump is attacking the American justice system and is a threat to democracy," President Joe Biden said, a day after his Republican rival was convicted in a New York criminal trial.
"Donald Trump threatens our democracy. First, he questioned our electoral system. Then he questioned our judicial system. And now you can stop him," Biden said on his personal profile on the social network X, urging his supporters to donate funds to his campaign.
Trump earlier lashed out with angry comments at "sick" opponents and "fascists" after the trial, which he called "very unfair."
Trump held a 35-minute press conference in the luxury lobby of Trump Tower in Manhattan.
But once he took the podium, he launched into an extraordinary tirade of insults and accusations that reflected his seething anger. He then left without answering any questions.
Judge Juan Mercan, who presided over the trial, is a "tyrant," Trump said, and said Mercan "literally crucified" the witnesses.
"This guy looks like an angel, but he's actually a devil," the former president said. | BGNES
