"Putin wants to bomb Kharkiv to the ground".
This was stated by German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock. She called for increased international efforts to deliver more air defense systems in view of the threat of a major Russian offensive against the city of Kharkiv, Yahoo News reported.
"If Russia launches a major offensive there (in Kharkiv – note ed.), it will lead to immeasurable suffering," Berbok said.
"Unfortunately, stocks, especially our own Patriot systems, are already quite depleted," she said at a meeting with her Moldovan counterpart Mihai Popshoi in Berlin.
Germany's top diplomat said that the Patriot air defense systems available in Europe and around the world should be deployed in favor of Ukraine.
She claims that, together with Ukraine and European partners, work is being done on the creation of a fund for the purchase of air defense systems from other countries around the world and for their quick delivery.
Berbok expressed hope that additional information will be provided at the meeting of the foreign affairs ministers of the G-7 countries in Italy next week./BGNES
