Ben Affleck remains committed to work and his children after Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce.
Affleck, 52, is "doing well and very focused" after filing for divorce from Lopez, which comes after months of speculation that their marriage was on the brink, an anonymous source told People magazine.
"He thrives when he has work projects. He's also great when it comes to the kids. He does exactly what he wants. He seems very happy. Affleck felt his marriage was over when he first moved into an apartment rental in Los Angeles, separate from the one they shared with Lopez, 55," the source added.
Lopez gave the date of their separation as April 26, when she filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences."
"You could tell he was upset about it, though. He knew he let Lopez down. He felt really bad about it. He and Lopez just have very different lifestyles. He realized he'd never be happy with her lifestyle. And she didn't expect it to change," the source said of Affleck's decision to move out.
Another source added that Affleck can be "very dark and moody at times," while "Lopez has a different appreciation for life. She's very grateful for everything."
Affleck is the father of three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. Lopez has 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband Mark Anthony. | BGNES
