Bellingham edges Real closer to title with El Clasico winner

Real Madrid are very close to winning the Spanish title after beating Barcelona 3-2 at home in the big La Liga derby. Hero for the Royals once again this season was Jude Bellingham who scored the winning goal in stoppage time.

At the Santiago Bernabeu, the Catalans twice took the lead through Andreas Christensen and Fermin López, but the hosts equalized with goals from Vinicius from the penalty spot and Lucas Vazquez. In this way, the two giants of Spanish football repeated the scenario of the first derby of the season, when Barca took the lead, only for Real to reverse and Bellingham scored the winning goal in stoppage time.

This victory practically sealed the title for "los blancos". Carlo Ancelotti's side now have an 11-point lead over Barcelona with six rounds remaining in the season.

"Bellingham hadn't scored in a long time, but he worked hard and scored a goal that could be fundamental to winning the title," declared Ancelotti after the success. "We took a huge step towards the Champions Trophy," exclaimed Vazquez, who had an excellent game for Real.

In the most controversial moment of the match, Barcelona had claims that the ball had crossed the goal line after a shot from Lamine Yamal, but La Liga does not use goal-line technology and VAR replays could not definitively show that this had happened, so no a hit was awarded. "We deserved a lot more with this game, but there's nothing we can do. It's a shame we don't have this technology," Barcelona coach Xavi said. /BGNES
