Bayern Munich beat Hoffenheim with a classic 3:0 win in the first match of the 17th round of the German First Bundesliga. The champions made a triumphant return from the league's winter break as 75,000 fans in the stands at the "Allianz Arena" paid tribute to club legend Franz Beckenbauer, who has passed away aged 78. "Der Kaiser" was buried on Friday, and on January 19, all of Germany will say a final goodbye to one of the greatest football players in history.
On the field, the Bavarians were inspired by 20-year-old talent Jamal Musiala, who scored two of the three goals in Hoffe's net. He opened the scoring in the 18th minute after an assist from Leroy Sane. In the 70's the two combined again and Musiala celebrated with his teammates for the second time. Shortly after, the visitors were down to ten men after Grischa Prömel's second yellow card. Finally, there was time for Harry Kane's goal, his 22nd in just 16 games in the Bundesliga.
With the win, Bayern collected an asset of 41 points and is one behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, who visit Augsburg later today. Hoffenheim is in the seventh position with 24 points, having failed to enter top 6 at least temporarily.
