The German chemical giant has vowed to "urgently" tackle key challenges as it plunges deep into the red in 2023, weighed down by problems with its glyphosate-based weed killers.
The group posted a loss of 2.9 billion euros after a net profit of 4.15 billion euros a year ago. "We have four challenges that urgently need to be addressed," Chief Executive Bill Anderson said, listing them as the pharmaceutical pipeline, legal problems with glyphosate, high levels of debt, and Bayer's hierarchical bureaucracy. /BGNES
