Barcelona moved up to second place in Spain's La Liga after a classic 3-0 away win over Atletico Madrid in a match of the 29th round of the championship.
At the Wanda Metropolitano, former Atletico player Joao Felix put the visitors ahead in the 38th minute after being assisted by Robert Lewandowski. Soon after, Catalans coach Xavi Hernandez picked up two quick yellow cards and was sent off by the referee. 120 seconds after the start of the second half, Lewandowski scored for 2:0 and in the 65th minute he assisted for the second time in the game for Fermin Lopez's goal. Atlético was reduced to 10 men in stoppage time after Nahuel Molina's straight red card.
In the standings, Barca displaced Girona from the second position and has 64 points, eight from the leaders Real Madrid. Atleti is already out of the top 4, a point behind fourth-placed Athletic Bilbao.
