Germany's Alexander Zverev defeated Russia's Andrei Rublev 6-4, 6-4 in a final match of the Red Group of the ATP Finals that was irrelevant to the final standings. Both players had no chance of advancing to the tournament's semifinals after Carlos Alcaraz's victory over Daniil Medvedev earlier on Friday.
After the success of the Spaniard, for only the second time since 2004, the first four in the world ranking will play in the semi-finals of the prestigious tournament.
