Atalanta continued its winning ways in Serie A after victory against Roma

Atalanta doesn't stop with the victories. The team beat Roma 2-0 away in the last match of the 14th round of the Italian Serie A. For Gian Piero Gasperini's team, it was the eighth consecutive championship success and eighth consecutive in all tournaments.

The visitors waited for their moment after the break when they struck twice. Marten de Roon opened the scoring in the 69th minute and 20 minutes later Nicolo Zaniolo, who came off the bench midway through the second half, put an end to the hosts' dreams by punishing his former team.

Atalanta are in terrific form, having not lost in the league since the end of September when they surprisingly came short against newcomers Como 2:3 at home. Since then, the Bergamo side have 11 wins and two draws. In the championship, the team is one point behind the leader Napoli, and in the Champions League, it occupies fifth place with three victories and two draws. Roma lost for the seventh time in Serie A and are in 15th position with 13 points.

Wolves will look for a first win under Claudio Ranieri at home to Lecce, while Atalanta host AC Milan and then play Real Madrid at home in the Champions League on December 10. | BGNES
