At least 30 bodies have so far been found in the Potomac River after the crash between a passenger jet and a military Black Hawk helicopter over Washington, a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation told CBS.
"Investigators are focusing on why the helicopter was flying in that location and at that altitude," the source added.
Washington's fire chief said at a briefing that emergency crews, numbering about 300 people, were working in "extremely difficult" conditions and gave little indication they expected to find anyone alive.
The plane had 60 passengers and four crew members on board , and the military Black Hawk helicopter had three people on board. | BGNES
