Singer and actress Ariana Grande celebrated her first Oscar nomination with boyfriend Ethan Slater.
The 31-year-old star was nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category at the 2025 Academy Awards for her role as the good witch Glinda in the adaptation of Wicked by John M. Chu in 2024.

Following the announcement, her 32-year-old partner Ethan shared a rare photo of Ariana on his Instagram Story, which shows her holding light pink balloons on the balcony of their hotel room.
Wicked also stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Jonathan Bailey as Prince Feyero, Ethan Slater as Bock and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz. The film received a total of 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Original Score and Achievements in Costume Design and Visual Effects.
In the Ariana category, Monica Barbaro is nominated for her role in the Bob Dylan biopic " A Complete Unknown," Felicity Jones for "The Brutalist," Isabella Rossellini for "Conclave" and Zoe Saldanha for "Emilia Perez."
Grande also celebrated her nomination on Instagram, sharing childhood photos of herself dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz.
"I raise my head between my tears to say a huge thank you to the Academy for this immeasurable recognition. I can't stop crying, to no one's surprise," she wrote alongside the photo.
She also described herself as "humbled and deeply honored" to be nominated alongside other "brilliant" actors and expressed special thanks to director John. However, he was not nominated for Best Director.
"You are the most incredibly brilliant leader, person and the shittiest friend. I'm so deeply proud of my wonderful Wicked' family," Ariana stated.
The singer also congratulated her Wicked co-star Cynthia, who received a nomination for best actress in a leading role.
"The moment she appeared on stage, she was able to seize this opportunity: 'I'm so proud of my Elfie, my sister, my dear Cynthia. Your brilliance is endless and you deserve every flower (tulip) in every garden," Grande said.
Ariana and Ethan met on the set of the film and have been going out since 2023.
The couple have largely kept their relationship a secret, but have increasingly shared moments from their life together. | BGNES
