The move comes as Apple plans to add AI technology from other companies to its devices amid reports it is discussing a potential collaboration with longtime partner Alphabet.
The iPhone maker is also expected to discuss partnerships with other AI companies in various regions such as China, where the Microsoft-backed ChatGPT chatbot is banned.

Discussions are not finalized and may fail. Deals with Apple would help AI companies gain wider exposure for their products.
The amount of potential financial revenue is unclear, but according to the report, the talks involved AI companies selling premium subscriptions to their services through Apple Intelligence.
AI search startup Perplexity has also been discussing with Apple about bringing its generative AI technology into Apple Intelligence.
