Andy Murray has announced that he will retire from tennis after the Olympics, the BBC reported.
The 37-year-old plans to play singles and doubles in Paris. This will be his fifth Olympic appearance.
"I arrived in Paris for my last tennis tournament," Murray wrote on social network X.
"Competing for Team Great Britain makes me extremely proud!"
The Scot's first appearance at the Games was in Beijing in 2008. He won singles gold at London 2012, defeating Roger Federer in straight sets.
Four years later, Murray became the first tennis player to win two Olympics after defeating Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro in Rio.
The three-time Grand Slam winner underwent hip surgery in January 2019.
Murray last played competitively earlier this month when he lost in the first round of Wimbledon doubles alongside his brother Jamie. | BGNES
