Andy Murray is out of Wimbledon

Andy Murray will not be on court at Wimbledon today. Tennis TV reports that the Briton withdrew from the singles competition as he felt he was not in good enough physical shape.

His place in the scheme will be taken by David Goffen. As a result of these changes, the match between Jack Draper and Elias Ymer has been moved to Center Court, while the clash between Felix Auger-Aliassim and Thanassi Kokkinakis will be played on Court 2.

However, Murray still has a chance to bid Wimbledon a proper farewell. The former No. 1 still plans to compete in the doubles tournament alongside his brother Jamie. In the first round, the two will face Rinki Hijikata and John Pearce.

Two weeks ago, Murray was forced to withdraw from the tournament in Queens due to serious back pain. The three-time Grand Slam winner subsequently underwent surgery to remove a spinal cyst. This put his participation at Wimbledon in very serious doubt. On the day before the draw, Murray said he would wait until the last possible moment before making a decision about his participation.

At the beginning of the year, the two-time Wimbledon champion announced that he would end his career after All England Club or the Olympics. The tournament in Paris starts on July 27. | BGNES
