Israel will send a delegation to the capital of Qatar for the next round of negotiations to secure the release of hostages in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced, the Jerusalem Post reported.
"An Israeli delegation will leave for Doha after the Security Cabinet discusses Israel's position," the statement said.
Earlier today, Hamas proposed a new six-week truce in Gaza and the exchange of several dozen Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners.
"The agreement is for a six-week ceasefire and prisoner exchange," an official from the group said after weeks of fruitless mediation efforts by the international community, adding that the group would like it to lead to "a complete (Israeli) withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and permanent ceasefire". /BGNES
