In the U.S., alligators have begun swimming in flooded streets after Hurricane Milton, WPBF News 25 reported.
A resident of Fort Myers in the state of Florida posted an unusual video taken during the height of the flooding and storm surge caused by the hurricane. Americans sitting in a car near the house filmed the bad weather. When one of them opened the door of the stalled SUV, suddenly an alligator's snout popped out of the water beneath his feet. The predator tried to bite the door, then clung to the wheel.
Before the storm hit, the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission warned state residents to stay safe during possible flooding. Experts recommended avoiding being in the water if possible, as there could be alligators and venomous snakes because of the raging elements. In an unfamiliar habitat, reptiles can experience severe stress and behave aggressively.
Overall, Florida is home to over 1.3 million alligators. | BGNES
